World Autism Day

Autism Day. What is World Autism Awareness Day?  It is a day that aims to increase people’s awareness about persons living with autism spectrum disorder, especially children living with autism. It is a day to celebrate the unique talents and skills of persons living with autism and it is a day when individuals with autism are welcomed and embraced in community events around the globe.

In support of World Autism Day, we are asking all students in ASD-N to show their support for persons with autism by participating in “Autism Hat Day”. On Friday, April 6, 2018 your child’s school will be participating in Autism Hat Day.  Students are permitted to wear a hat in school and contribute a small donation to Autism Resources Miramichi Inc. All proceeds from the fundraiser will be earmarked for children’s programs offered at the resource centre. Our programs for children include teen recreation and social activities, social skills program offered to school age children during summer, and special family social events as well as our Multi-Sensory Room.

We are delighted to acknowledge your child’s school contribution through their efforts to raise awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders and to support Autism Resources Miramichi.

Thank you for your support.
