Terry Fox Walk

Posted: October 3, 2017

On Thursday, September 28th 2017 at 10:30 a.m. L.E.R. students took part in the 37th annual Terry Fox Walk! L. E. R. Students and Staff departed from the school and parading their way to downtown William Street and returned back to L.E.R. Terry Fox was a Canadian athlete, humanitarian and cancer research activist. In 1980, with one leg having been amputated, he embarked on an east to west cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Terry hoped to raise a dollar from every Canadian and on September 28th we asked our students to come out, donate a dollar and help support Terry’s dream! This year we challenged our L.E.R. Students and Staff to raise a grand total of $500.00 for the Marathon of Hope. If this goal was reached, then both the principal and vice principal will get a pie in their face!
